Learn German
Why?
- A language of culture
- A language of business
- A language of our neighbours and of friendship
The most widely spoken mother tongue in Europe, German is principally spoken in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, the South Tyrol region of Italy and in the east of Belgium.
Among the most important of France’s economic partners, Germany and the German-speaking countries offer plenty of opportunities in terms of work, business and training.
Are you moving to a German speaking country? Speaking the language allows you to integrate well and better understand these different European cultures.
Would you like to learn the language of your clients and partners. German is used on a daily basis by many of the companies based in Sophia Antipolis (Bayer Crops, SAP Labs etc).
Germans are great travellers and each year the PACA region welcomes large numbers of German-speaking tourists. What’s more, the numbers are constantly rising. To welcome them properly, being able to speak German is a real asset.
German is a language that connects Europe. While reading Goethe or Schopenhauer in their native language might be your goal, simply understanding our European neighbours is a great way for us all to get along.
Who is it for?
For adults or students who wish to learn (beginners), improve (intermediates) or perfect (advanced) their German for private or professional needs. For people wishing to pick up German again after school or University.
For businesses whose employees have regular interactions with German-speaking clients or who make frequent trips to Germany or to German-speaking countries.
The courses in German (levels A1 to C2) are eligible for the ‘Compte Personnel de Formation’ (CPF).
My organisation, created in 2012, is recognised as a specialist in language education. It is registered with the secretariat of the PACA region under the number 93.06.06955.06 and referenced in Datadock.

Program and method
[toggle title=More border=none]
An efficient and interactive method based on communication.
A cultural and linguistic approach to a language which has a reputation for being difficult to learn.
Together we will discover that while this important European language requires efforts to perfect the rules of grammar but, unlike French, the spelling and pronunciation hold no surprise.
Enriched by a great deal of academic and professional experience in Germany, and in constant contact with the country, I suggest:
– Courses to learn or to progress in both spoken and written German. Theses lessons will be adapted to your needs and objectives, to your level and to your ability.
– Help with preparation for the Goethe-Zertifikat.
– An assessment at our first meeting to see where you are starting from and to establish a customised programme.
The reference for my qualifications to teach German can be found here: CEFRL
From level A1 to level C2, my German courses can help you get started, help you perfect the language and accompany you during the learning process.
Oral comprehension, speech, written comprehension and writing are the four pillars through which the fundamentals of language learning are addressed.

Dominique Gallard is a serious, competent teacher who listens to all her students. Her German lessons are varied (conversation, texts, grammar, listening to texts and dialogues). During the 3 years that I’ve been doing her course, I’ve never been bored and I’ve learned a lot. I strongly recommend this teacher.
Corinne S, Valbonne, April 2018
I participated for 6 months in a course given by Dominique Gallard in Sophia Antipolis in 2016 and it allowed me to revise my German that escaped me a long time ago. I did 7 years at school but without practising and I had almost entirely lost it. The lessons with Dominique were very interesting and allowed me to regain my confidence and today I have moved to Germany where I work!!
Antoine L, Potsdam, Germany, April 2018
At the moment, Dominique is once again my teacher (I learned French with her when I arrived in France) because she also teaches German and I decided to pick up the language that I’d learned at school. With Dominique, it is always a pleasure to learn a language, you progress quickly and her lessons are interesting.
Carmen L, Opio, November 2017
I’ve picked up the German that I learned in Canada because I needed a direct link with my German and Austrian clients at work. The lessons with Dominique are a pleasure because they are varied and motivating. I’m planning to sit the Goethe-Zertifikat B1 soon.
